In the fall of 2023, I embarked on a journey that would change my life. I attended Okanagan College in Kelowna to obtain a certificate in Floral Design—a step that felt like the first bloom in what has become an incredible adventure. Just a few months later, in January 2024, I opened Bee Well Floral, a one-of-a-kind custom floral design studio that is 100% Indigenous-Owned and Women-Operated, right here in Vernon, BC. Since then, I’ve poured my heart into every bouquet and arrangement, creating meaningful designs that reflect love, joy, and connection.
But every artist needs a space to create. For me, that space has been our very cramped garage—a less-than-ideal setting for the type of work I dream of doing. After much dreaming, planning, and gentle convincing, my husband and I decided it was time to take the next step. We’re building a floral design workshop right here on our 0.72-acre property, a place that feels like the perfect canvas for this next chapter of Bee Well Floral.
We purchased our property in 2020, and from the moment I saw it, I knew it was meant to be ours. I used to drive past this house daily, manifesting the idea that one day it would be home. The land, with its breathtaking view of the valley, spoke to me in a way few places ever have. It holds so much potential, and every corner of it inspires creativity. Included on our property is a 100-year-old barn and a paddock, both of which hold their own charm. I can’t wait to share future blog posts about converting the paddock into a roadside farm stand—another exciting project on the horizon.
This workshop represents more than just a physical space. It’s a vision come to life—a place to create meaningful floral designs that bring joy to others, a heartfelt space where I can host workshops and share my love of floral artistry, and a welcoming spot for customers to pick up their monthly floral subscriptions. I envision a space that’s not only beautiful but also deeply personal, reflecting the values of Bee Well Floral and the community we’re building together.
As I share the journey of planning and building this workshop, I’ll also share the story of how dreams take root and bloom. I’m so grateful for the opportunity to grow this business and for the incredible support I’ve received from family, friends, and customers along the way. I hope you’ll follow along as we bring this vision to life—one petal at a time.
Stay tuned for updates, milestones, and behind-the-scenes peeks into this exciting new chapter for Bee Well Floral. And, of course, I’d love to hear from you! What do you dream of creating in your own life? Let’s inspire each other to keep planting seeds and watching them grow.
